Anticipation Day 2

Tuesday went rather well. I slept a lot and beat Ansem in Kingdom Hearts, finally. It only took me about 8 tries of wading through the 5 minute dialog. I also managed to glean some successes from ye Old IRC. Other than that, I did not really do too much. Today I missed Madrigals (oh well). I'm still longing for GTA:Vice City, which I'll hopefully pick up today.

Addendum: I got GTA3:VC and it rocks my world. You can buy buildings and blunt objects (e.g. hammers, bats, screwdrivers, cleavers, machette's, etc.)

Anticipation Day 1

"Looks like someone's got a case of the Monday's," the line goes. And it was definitely true for this Monday. I woke up and went through the typical morning routine (eating, lifting, etc) and headed off to school. I didn't have much homework, but I felt like crud. After school, I had Madrigal play rehearsal until 5:00p.m. So, by the time I got home, I just had time to lift weights again and eat dinner. From there it was off to show choir. As always, show choir was a bit tedious. Once I got home I played some Kingdom Hearts (I still can't beat Ansem after 5 tries) and did my English homework. I also managed to "obtain" NFS:HP2 and burn Danny a cd.

Insert Clever Caption Here

Got into bed at 3:00 a.m. after Danny's shindig. Props to Danny (Chupacabra) for hosting the event. I awoke this morning at 7:30 a.m. for work - eyes ablaze, and throat parched, longing for a reprieve. But I managed to get it together enought to get to Target on time. It was really cold this morning, which helped me to perk up a bit as did the fact taht I got to go home early. I got home at 1:00 p.m. and took a nice long three hour nap. After that, it was off to show choir, which went well, as well. I picked up my computer from Danny's, did some homework, finished up some academic bowl preparations and wrote this blog. *whew*

Work Work (Zug Zug)

Saturday sucked more than Friday. I woke up, went to vocal jazz, which was at the Mariott West, not the Convention Ctr. After that, I took a 1 hr. snooze and then went to my mom's co-worker's house (computer tech support). After that I went to Target and worked my ass off until 11:30p.m. (10:30p.m. w/ daylight savings time). Then I ghetto packed up my computer and went over to Danny's, which kicked. But I have to work tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. No more tonight.

Lan Prep 101

Well, Danny's hosting a LAN this weekend. I will personally beat Sauce, Ramius, Alixor, Marcus, etc. if they don't show. Today (Fri.) I woke up, played some more Kingdom Hearts (you know you love it) then I did some homework, took a nap, picked up some dry cleaning and salt blocks (read: excruciating suckage) and did some more homework. Let me say this once and only once. William Shakespeare's King Lear is a Bear to read. By association, so are 17 page literary criticisms written by some guy who chooses as many multi-sylabic words as is humanly possible. Eschew obfuscation you elitist pig-dog. I really don't have time to elaborate more. Today's also a really terrible day for people dying. Take a look below:

My Bad

Sorry for the long delay in updating the website. Tuesday, Jerome, Kevin, Kevin's GF, Tamara, Rita, and I went to Counting Crows. They were excellent and very American, to say the least. I thought the opener (Graham Colton Group) was good but sounded a lot like Oasis. Wednesday was a half day full of stuff to do. I had a vocal jazz rehearsal along with an eye doctor appointment. To cap off the night, we seniors marched in our final football game (unless we make playoffs) and it was really cold. Then Jerome, Alex, Greg, Nathan, Marcus, Tamara, Katie, Reina, Elena and I went to Culvers. After that, we went to Elena's house to play video games (DDR). Wednesday, I got a haircut and took care of a lot of unfinished business.

Robot Only Want Friend

Well, today is mediocre, thus far. I missed jazz band somehow, despite my two alarm clocks, which were supposed to wake me up. My mom blamed my "gaming," which I didn't even do last night. I was only on the computer for 1/2 hr (11:00-11:30p.m.) Then I got a stain on one of my favorite shirts, but I think it will wash out.
Peace Out,

Today was another boring, day (aka I was tired). Got home, took a nap. The I played Kingdom Hearts, which is really becoming addicting. I got online and then I found out that I'd been accepted in to the C&C General beta test, which I am absolutely exstatic about. This game looks absolutely incredible.

Pensive

Well, I had to work today, and work I did. And it stunk with a capital 'kuh'. Afterwords, Greg, Nathan, Jerome, Reina, Rita, Tamara and I went to Pizzeria Uno's for some food, which was very good. Afterwords, we saw Rules of Attraction, which I found to be, on the whole, very entertaining. It made me think about a lot of things. It was a little too long, and reminded me somewhat of a Hemingway, Shakesperean, Elmore Leonard Novel. Because a) it ended with everyone out in precipitation. b) it was a tragedy, sort of like Romeo and Juliet, sort of c) it was told from multiple points of view and used a lot of flashbacks. It made me think about a lot of things, mainly that you have to take charge in your life. Destiny doesn't just hand everything to you on a nice silver platter. So, Carpe Diem. Take the initiative, seize the day. Also, a lot of people thought this was a pessimistic movie. I don't think it was necessarily. I just think a few people made a few mistakes, and such were at fault for their own failures.

Requesting Backup

Ok, well both of the computers in our house had issues today. First, my administrator profile somehow became corrupt (I'm guessing due to aggressive memory timings). The old computer had some issues of its own, namely that its power button fell off. I managed to fix my computer by readjusting the memory timings, and recovered my lost data because win2k advanced server maintains a backup folder, which thankfully had my old e-mail messages in it. So, yeah, I need a new backup hard drive. Backup, backup backup!!!

Nothing

Well, today was another pointless day. Slept a lot. But I watched Waking Life in Ideas class. Man was that a good movie (what I've seen of it). Mr. Smith's going to Washington, no pun intended, in order to protest war on Iraq. As is Josh Olson. It's only $75, so you might want to check it out if you've got the 25-26th free. I played a lot of Kingdom Hearts. It's grown on me quite a lot, I must say. Good times.

Special K

What a great day today was, but I'll get to that later. Let me first say that Incubus was absolutely incredible live. Anyway, I had almost no homework in my classes today, which was absolutely wonderful. Had it not been for an unfortunate fire drill, I might have gotten some sleep in Mr. Coller's class and despite a paper shortage, I managed to finish my English paper, which I was also pleased with. I then proceeded to ask Kelly Boyle to join Kelty's and my academic bowl team (appropriately named team "kuh" as we are hoping to have only team members with plosive "kuh" consonants. Following that, I went to ideas where somehow Carl Brickbauer got really angry and stormed out after swearing and right before slamming the door. Then we proceeded to talk about Socrates and his methodolgy / beliefs. That was very interesting. I ate a ton for lunch and then relaxed. In English Class, the immortal Mrs. Kenny showed up. We ate cookies and read King Lear. Mrs. Kenny Owns you. Then, I came home and slept. What a great day.

Well, day in a nutshell: me = tired. After school, I did all my homework, which was excellent, but I still have to finish up my English paper, which is due tomorrow. In addition, I have two concerts to attend: 1.) Fall Choir Concert 7:30-8:45 2.) Incubus Concert 8:45-Who knows when

H.O.E 2

Well, at least the worst of the show choir debacle is over with. I'm tired, but it's a good tired. I'd just like to thank any of the show choir members reading this for putting up with me and each other. Personally, I think this has been the best dance camp that I have attended. To change the topic a bit, The Big Crap Shoot Took place this weekend. I'm sure it was a blast as it was supposed to be all bf1942 all the time.

Addendum: watched Royal Tenenbuams late tonight. It was pretty weird. It reminded me of a Stream of Consciousness Novel. I found it mediocre.

Zinn

Today was a great day. First of all, I got a good grade on all my quizzes. Secondly, a spokesman for the Libertarians came into Mrs. P's class today, which I found very stimulating. Band was a riot, choir was dull and the rest of my classes went well. Now for the main attraction. Marcus, Jerome and I went to see Howard Zinn, authoer of A People's History of the United States. All I can say is: The man is a genius. He fought in World War II and is now a complete opponent of war. His quotations were so well thought out, it was staggering:

Woman: My first response after 9/11 was to say "bomb them"
Zinn: Ironic that we choose to bomb those who bomb us...

Zinn:...and isn't war on a large scale just terrorism?
Zinn:...and people always forget the soldiers. They are the victims of the tyranny of their ruler.

Anyway, he was incredible

Gigantor Update

Ok, sorry for the long delay in updating the blog. Here's what's been going on.

Friday: We staged a Sit-In at the school after lunch, which fell apart thanks to a number of threats including: malicous threats, and a lack of Freshmen and Sophomore conviction. Dane was elected honorary homecoming king, which we all expected. I was a little unsure as to how this was going to go off, but it went pretty well, considering all the possible pitfalls. After the game, Greg and I went to Tamara's house to play some more DOA 3. Then we watched Zoolander, which was pretty good.

Saturday: Worked a lot, then I got the wild idea to wear a child's Tigger outfit to the homecoming dance. That went over really well. Everyone thought that I was on drugs or that my schtick was absolutely hilarious. Then Greg, Tamara, Rita, Gavin, Jackie, and David Orrie went to Denny's.

Sunday: Worked again as a cart attendant (wasn't planning on it, though). Then I fell asleep and when I began to do some homework, I realized that I had to go back to Target in order to get a replacement for this Saturday (the 12th) because I have dance camp that day for Show choir and I accidentally requested the week after it off (I think). Luckily I found someone who could take my shift. So, thanks, Monica.

Monday: Show Choir, that was about it.

Tuesday: Let's see. After I fumed about the viewpoints of my comrades in ideas class, I got a good grade on my English test, which made my day. Then I went to Best Buy to pickup Chevelle's new CD, Wonder What's Next, which I have have not quite finished listening to, but thus far I am somewhat disappointed in, but for $6, what can you complain about? Then I looked to see if Best Buy had the new Logitech MX 500 mouse in stock-they didn't and it was priced $10 too high (over MSRP). After that, I went to Circuit City to buy Unreal Tournament 2k3, which I just installed and haven't had a chance to play yet. Marcus says it's pwnTastical, so I'll be playing that avidly, I'm sure. Finally, I went to Farm & Fleet to pickup a License Plate Holder for my car, then I did homework.

Cancelled!!!

All homecoming events for the rest of the week were cancelled today. And as I have come to be persuaded / believe, because of the actions of a few out of control individuals. So, that's a bummer, and I feel really sorry for the people that put in a lot of time and effort into crafting a positive homecoming experience. Not a whole lot that I can do, though. I went to Madison's to have dinner w/ my mom and some relatives that came in from out of town, which was interesting, to say the least. The food was good, but the shrimp scampi still contained the tails, which is not acceptable, considering the shrimp were buried within the noodles. It's not supposed to be a freaking puzzle!

Well, this post is doin' double duty, so I'll include more music and swag than usual. With my typical flair, I wore my p1mp3d Julius Caesar Toga complete w/ "Word to My Plebs" on the back On Tues. but there was not nearly enough togage to warrant my efforts, so the wind was severely taken out of my sails. Teh Suck!
So, yeah yesterday (Monday) was one hell of a long day. Woke up at 5:00 a.m. to get to school early so the juniors didn't have anywhere to park, which went over well. I bombed my Spanish quiz, and got a large amount of homework. Then I had show choir, which lasted until 9:00 p.m. But my night did not end there, I had to do math homework for 3 hours until midnight, at which point I was very edgy. Not a particularly good day.
