Thursday (posted on Friday)

Thursday was another nothing day. Now I can't even really remember what I did. After school, I tried to troubleshoot Taryn's computer, went w/ Josh Olson to Red Robin and then proceeded to an ISO (International Socialist Organization) meeting. It was very informative, however, I do not believe it to be the group for me. They advocate a "revolution," albeit from what I can tell not in the traditional Marxist sense, but they do not exactly embrace the traditional bicameral and representative democratic system. Instead, they believe in complete redistribution of public wealth, governmentally owned utilities, and direct democracy.

Recognition

Today was headlined by the senior recognition ceremony, but more on that later. First, we had a guest speaker in Soc., I fell asleep during our science video, made up the Social Studies Civil Rights test, and proceeded to do nothing else remarkable but make up a vocab test. I went home and took a 2 hour nap after school, then I went to senior recognition, where I got my tassels and a scholarship!!

Long Time

Well, where to begin: Friday I suppose.
Friday was senior skip day. I called in sick, went to Devil's lake, walked completely around the lake w/ Marcus, and climbed one of the big cliffs. We went home around 3:00pm, and I got a haircut later that day. I read a lot about cars while I was waiting. The new Z'06 'Vette looks pretty impressive. I can't really remember what I did for the rest of Friday night. I think I updated my style page or something... dont' really remember.

Saturday: I read some more Pride and Prejudice. 40 pages in total. Um... god I wish I would stay more on top of this stuff. I did some chores, helped Greg with his new processor and motherboard, then we went to see Cowboy Beebop at the Orpheum. I enjoyed it if not for the plot then for the incredible art direction (it's an anime film) and the incredible jazz score. Then we went to the senior party, which was fun. The blackjack and craps vegas-style gambling was really cool. I managed to go from rags to riches and back again several times in the course of the night. I ended up winning two cd wallets, a stupid patriotic t-shirt, some EZ-mac, two towels, some pens, a laundry basket, pixie stix, bubble gum, and some microwaveable popcorn. I got home at 2.

Sunday: I read Pride and Prejudice for two hours, finally polishing it off after a long battle with its British-induced tedium. Got my laptop on Sunday, too. It's a Toshiba 2.4ghz w/ 512mb of ram, 60gb hard drive, and a cd + dvd burner. Pretty cool. It's a little bit lacking in the software department, but I'm cool so I'll rectify that problem in short order. The LAN was really fun. I had 11 mountain Dews. We played some PVK, YARR!!!, Warcraft 3 (12 Blademasters and 7 Demon Hunters) as well as the normal variety, a little bit of CS, and some BF 1942, of course. Kathleen, Jerome, Nathan, Josh Olsen and (on Monday) Tamara all showed up. I consumed a total of 11 Mountain Dews and naturally did not sleep until Monday (more on that later)

Monday: I continued lanning until I had to go home to shower and get myself ready for marching band (had to be at the high school at 9 o'clock). Again, I emphasize I had not slept at all. Marching was fine, if not warm. I was tired. I drank another Mountain Dew upon getting back to the school, recollected my things from Mark's Dad's office, got home, and slept from noon until 6:30pm. Then I did homework for 7hrs until 1:30am.

Today: I went to school, was tired, continued doing a lot of homework, got home, washed off my car, read Breakfast of Champions, which I am thus far enjoying, fell asleep, went to Target->Best Buy->Home, tested out the new O.A.R. cd, which I am thus far enjoying immensely.

Can You Hear
Style Page Updated!

Yesterday, Ninja Wednesday, was a big hit. Today was a normal day. I wore blue jeans and my MG tennis shirt, as it was supposed to be for School Spirit Day. I didn't see much school spirit, though. I washed my car, in the process most likely scratching up my windows big time. Then, I went inside, read some Jane Austen and took a nap. Tomorrow is senior skip day.

Finally, some peace and Quiet

Today, I did not have tennis practice, came home read Pride and Prejudice, tested out Press Play, Steve Jobs's new mp3 service o' death (free for 30 days). Um... then I took a nap, went over to Josh Glass's, went to Mark's and got really sick eating sesame chicken.

MoMo's Day

It's Mother's Day today. I woke up at ten after going to bed at 4. Last night, we went to dinner at Quivey's Grove. It started pouring, we had to high tail it to the dance to make it in time for the grand march. I acted typically goofy, did some Karaoke at post prom, where I stayed until about 3:30. After that, I went to Jerome's and watched some old videos of his, very funny stuff. When I tried to get to sleep, Joey Cordes's snoring was extremely loud - hell, earthshattering. This morning, I went to brunch with my Grandpa, mom, dad, and my grandfather's friend, Joan. The brunch was sub par, unfortunately. We were situated in a corner, and my grandfather was ill. When I got home, I called my grandmother, and then slept for 4 and a half hours. I watched the Simpsons, and read some Noam Chomsky - always a good (or somewhat dull) time.

On a side note, I've also started keeping track of all the things that piss the hell out of me about "Dubya."

Romer + Prom

Today is prom. I'm taking Emily Welsh (woot). I cleaned my room, got my dad's car washed, did some various other car maintenance procedures, d/led som Ra, played some WC3. We're meeting at Jerome's at 5:45 for pictures => Quivey's grove =>Dance =>Post-Prom=>Jerome's. Ra kicks butt.

Yesterday (Friday) was Jerome's 18th b-day. Holly got him a lil' hippo named Boblum. It was very cute, I must say. I went to pickup my tux, where I saw Mr. and Mrs. Coller. Then I went to Best Buy, then home, then to X-Men 2. That movie was quite awesome - definitely the best action flick I've seen this year.

AP Week Over

Calc Test done. Did pretty well, I think. I had the fine arts banquet tonight, and I'm just starting to get back on top of all the crap I've been missing. It's Jerome's B-day tomorrow (30 minutes). That's all for now. Zupan won the fine arts award. Congrats to him.

Today's Poetry
Voi Cd ircular
As I gaze abjectly,
Into the stifling, interwoven thorns of future,
Lashing out until drained and bloodied,
I lose hope. When all of a sudden,
A light tears through the despair and rends the barbs asunder.
Life is not a matter of absolutes; not blacks and whites but grays;a life of hypocrisy; where everything comes full circle.

AP Test Week Continues

After an absence yesterday, AP week continues without a hitch. Monday was English; today, Spanish;tomorrow, Calculus. I didn't get done w/ my exam until 2. Then I went out to Michael's w/ the AP Crew. I got seriously buzzed on sugar, went home, went to a voice lesson, studied, designed some webpages, and hit they hay.

I lied

Saturday was the Spaghetti dinner. I performed You Don't Love Me Anymore by Weird Al and Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. Then, my smaller cd wallet (32 cd capacity) was taken from my car. I'm really pissed off about that.
