Pushups and Procrastination

You can always tell when I'm getting bored, or want to procrastinate because I start blogging like nuts. Today is / was no exception. I didn't really do anything of merit today, except for getting a haircut. I did lots of pushups and situps, watched Chappelle Show, went to Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Cold Stone. Oh, and I played a fair amount of SSX3.

Weary workforce

Today began another semi-dismal day at Target, filled with contempt, my superiority complex, boredom, fatigue, and complacency. My muscles felt tired from not having done this sort of thing in a couple of months, but the finger remembered how to cashier after about three hours of retraining. Target is really grating on me. It's so juvenile. I need something I actually enjoy.

After work, I went and saw The Fog of War, at Hilldale Theatres. F.O.W. chronicles the life of former Secretary of Defense, Robert Mcnamara, now 87 years old. He's incredibly sharp, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of history.

Skiing and suck

I went to Lutsen MN for spring break with my buddy tim, who lives near Duluth in Hermantown, MN. We had two decent, if not cold, windy, and wet (just to name a few adjectives) in the 1100 vertical feet that is Lutsen. Snow was decent, but very crusty at times.

However, on the way back, at 7:30 P.M. I was driving on highway 53, when a beige Chevy Cavalier passed me in the left lane, suddenly hitting its brakes. I followed suit, at which point I lost control of my Subaru Outback and swerving left into the ditch between the north and south bound lanes. I barrel rolled my car a total of four times, cracking the wind shield, tearing off the side view mirrors, denting the body and roof. I sustained only some small lacerations to my left pinky finger. I ended up staying the night in Barron, WI (pop approx. 2,000). My mom picked me up today, and I rode the four hours back to Madison. Not a good way to start a Spring Break.

Happy 19th Birthday

Well, it's my 19th birthday today, and so far (as of 4am, it has been a good one). More festivities are yet to follow, I am sure, and I'll keep you posted as to what goes on.

Poetry
Afterglow

The afterglow,
of neon wires criss crossed,
bleeding neat secrets in the darkness,
feeding my latent tendencies,
like a blue whale, straining the ocean depths,

so I walk stair streps with lies to stretch,
and figures to etch, trying to not to wretch, with a Willie Mays basket catch,
backing thumbtacks with acidic traction and lacking direction,
honing skills toward the goal of absolute perfection,
