Why the Computer Industry Must Die

I did stuff today. Onto my rant. (ok, actually it was Amy Renk's graduation party and Jerome and I biked around the lake and went out on the boat). Now onto rant:

Processors are super expensive. $500 for a 939 pin processor is simply unacceptable. Games take forever to come out. They lied about half-life 2 and Doom III like they always do. Maybe they'll be out this Christmas. Maybe. I'm just going to add 1 year onto whatever any good developer says about a game's release date.

Stop jerking my PC chain... fucking bitches.

Hard Work

Today, I woke up at 11:47am. This is nothing out of the ordinary, except for the fact that Jason was supposed to, and did, stop by at noon. Needless to say I didn't have much time to get ready. Jason and I went weightlifting at the Shell for about 2 hours. It was hell - lots of reps, a bit of running, squats, basketball, and auxiliaries. Nothing will ever make me like squats. Of this I am sure.

After that, I bummed about at home for a good deal of time until Jerome called me to go bike around the lake with Tamara, Matt, and Alex. We biked to the convention center, rode the elevator up and ate dinner at Ian's Pizza, finally making our way to Coldstone for some scrumptious desert. Matt and Alex departed, and Tamara, Jerome and I headed home, as it began to rain. By the time we got back to Jerome's we were thoroughly damp (not wet, but rather overly hydrated).

Other than that, not much to report. I've been playing lots of Warcraft III - and haven't been getting much better.

Worth a Listen

I hate Target. It's official, but that's good, seeing as I'm done on the 22nd of this month. Not much else to report on that front except that I managed to acquire more 'Target Crap', that being a cooler with an extendable handle for whoring two Target Visas. Steph made me a wonderful tag declaring my love of flags and Flag Day, which is always nice I guess.

I saw the movie Saved! tonight with Jerome and Tamara, an adventure that included smuggling various Starbucks Coffee products into the movie theatre. Much hilarity accompanied this act. I did enjoy the movie a great deal, as did pretty much everyone, I think.

On the music front, I have many new albums to listen to including: Sparta, Phish, Velvet Revolver, and the Beastie Boys, just to name a few. The Phish album is very good but not altogether to my taste. I'm just beginning to indulge myself in the Sparta LP, which is slowly growing. We'll see how high its chutes rise.

I'm rich (bitch)

Today marks another bit of awesomeness in the unfolding saga that is my life. I have been offered a job at Verizon Wireless as an intern doing programming for them. The job lasts the duration of the summer and pays twice as well as Target does. Accordingly, I have accepted their offer, put in my resignation letter at Target, and celebrated by woohooing several times. In other news, my car (which I have not mentioned as of late but I do now have one) is in the shop for routine maintenance, and I'm having to do tons fill out tons of forms for the new job, which is a real bore. I also took my drug test for the job today, and let me tell you, I totally owned the cup. I had to hold it just to stop from overflowing the cup. I gave my cup to the guy, went back in, and continued to empty the tanks. OWNED!

Yesterday I picked up a new book on PHP and MySQL, which should come in handy for this job and for any jobs that Danny and I get over the summer for web page design. Be expecting to see Twin Fusion Designs links popping around the blog pretty soon. I went Claddagh Irish pub last night with the madre, which was fun. I had some Guinness, which I rejected as being too dark, too... blech.
