I'm pissed. I got my grades, and they're not what I want them to be. Gr... of all the semesters when things had to go not-so-well, this shouldn't have been the one... Gr....

Today is otherwise marked by the fact that it's New Year's Eve, which will be spent at Jerome's (woo woo). I have to give a urine sample today, and fax some stuff. Other than that, not much to report. Gr...

The other day, Steph and I went to Best Buy. We got crunked on OE40, and then proceeded to fight about our child, Hector Lester. Bitch wants me to pay child support. I'm all "hells no" and she be all "I'ma fist you." Bitch.

Merry Christmas

It's Christmas again, which means a couple of things:
-Great food
-Me Back at Home
-Absolutely nothing on TV

My main haul this year was a new pair of ski boots. I can't wait to hit the slopes this year, and it even snowed, making it a white Christmas. Now if it would only warm up, I could actually go skiing.

Other than that, Christmas was celebrated in its typical manner. My grandpa and uncle on my mom's side come over, we eat, unwrap etc. Then in the evening my dad's side of the family (uncles, aunt and two cousins).

I'm writing a paper on quantum and DNA computing for an engineering writing competition through the university. Hopefully I can get some money out of the deal.

At Last

Exams are done, hurray have fun!

Calculus is done, thankfully. After my exam, I packed up my things and dumped them back home. I went to Ocean's 12 w/ Josh, Marcus, Alex, Jerome, Greg, and Chris. Here's the Review

I never could've expected Ocean's 12 to live up to the original. It simply wasn't possible. That being said, I was expecting a heist of epic proportions, and in that regard was somewhat disappointed. That being said, it was my only real disappointment.

Ocean's 12 comes off as a very different picture from the original. The characters are injected with pathos, things don't run quite the way they should, and at times the characters seem anemic, oddball, and pathetic. Other times, the bravado comes out in full force, though never in shades of twelve minus one. The movie is a bit confusing at first, leaving you to wonder exactly why another caper has to be pulled within two weeks, but that aside there are no major holes.

The real enjoyment out of '12' comes from its nothing less than stellar cast. Catherine Zeta Jones lights up the screen as only she can, and for the ladies, there's Brad Pitt - hard to argue with those two bombshells. The rest of the gang, headed by Clooney, and Garcia do an excellent job. Their chemistry alone makes the movie worth watching, not so much as a heist flick, but more as an exercise in great acting. While some parts of the movie are ridiculous (character inconsistencies, ridiculuos stunts, and persona changes) the movie is solid overall, and a delight to watch.

1 To Go

Just Calculus is left, having sufficiently owned my computer science and physics exams. Jerome and I got Gloria Jeans Cookie Chillers and then bought crap at West Towne. It was hot.

Halfwayhome

I'm 2/4. Computer Science 367 was sufficiently owned, and CS/ECE 352 went pretty well. Now, it's time for Physics and Calculus (ghhhh...)

Shitting Bricks

It's an unnatractive title. No one will dispute that. But it's also the truth. Finals are a mere two days away, and I am finally done with my classes. I still have to suffer through a smattering of review sessions, but those are well worth the time.

Here's the breakdown:
Saturday: Computer Science 367, Electrical + Comp. Engineering 352
Monday: Physics 202
Wednesday: Math 234 (Calc 3)

In the music arena, if you're into Drum 'n Bass Techno, check out Aphrodite, one of the world's elite DnB DJ's. His songs have been featured in the SSX line of video games, and have made some MTV airplay (pretty good for anyone in the techno scene).

In concert news, moe. is coming to Madison in February. So, if you want to go, shoot me a line (kerrycr at gmail dotcom) .

Here's hoping your stool samples look better than mine.

Blasphemy

Remember that time I said I wasn't going to post anything on my site until finals were over? yeah, right. So, I've been check-checking the new music lately, and let me be the first to tell you that Emo is officially dead. Well, at least Halfwayhome's brand of Emo. It's trite, it's cliched, they can't play guitar, and they certainly can't sing. Yeah, it's painful alright. Painful to listen to. The lead singer has all the intonation of Ashlee Simpson and a mother raccoon trying to protect her nest.

The production is on par with a white stripes album - that is to say, there is no production. This works for the white stripes, who can pull a small symphony out of a scrotal incubator, but not for Halfwayhome, whose cover art features women playing lawn tennis in dresses WITH BLOOD! If you're not scared by now, you'll probably listen and irrevocably damage your sense of good taste.

Next album: Bayside's "Sirens and Condolences" another emo masterpiece by the same people that brought you Hawthorne Heights and the new Celine Dion album. The album cover features a woman wearing a tube top, who had apparently fallen down a flight of stairs. Platitudes aside, I think this would be better suited for a life-alert ("help, I've fallend and I can't get up") commercial than an emo album cover. I mean, where are the razorblades? ... and of course the women playing lawn tennis WITH BLOOD! I don't really remember much about the album, which is to say it sounded like every other crappy emo album. Clean tubed guitars with expensive amps, a mediocre singer, and then we'll scream and do some more non-chorded guitars, scream, etc. Don't buy it - jump off a cliff.

Finality

Hey what's up my schniggies? Yo yo yo - check check it --- ahhhh shit.

Sorry about the absence of updates, but I've been a busy boy with schoolin' and all. I had my last physics lab for the rest of my life today, and believe me, it couldn't come any sooner. Physics labs are some sort of horrible abomination like white people wearing orange suits or Avril Lavigne.

I've been peepin' lots of the Hip-Hop lately - Deltron 3030, Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Mos Def, Black Star, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Non-Prophets, just to name a few.

Finals are comin' up pretty soon, so I should be too busy to study.

Worn Me Down

I'm worn out. Two computer science projects, a bench exam, lots of homework, and stress loom in the near future.
