Battle with the Fecal Forces

Today was a day like anyother. I got rejected by Microsoft for an internship, lost my contacts, and did battle with a toilet that I managed to plug.... for two and a half hours.

Yes, that's right, yours truly managed to plug a toilet, and was unable to clear the damned clog for the next 150 minutes. Admittedly, our plunger sucks, but this was one hell of a clog. I used my hands, coat hangers, a highly skilled team of co-ordinated SWAT toilet unclogging orangutans, and even a rubber ducky, but mr. toilet was adamant on staying clogged. So, I plunged and I plunged, and I coat hangered and I coat hangered. My hands hurt like hell, and are covered in blisters from that POS rubbermaid plunger. Oh, how I long for the uber plunger I have back at home. But after a lot of sweat, tears, and my roommates taking pictures of me struggling with the bowl that wouldn't budge, I managed to plunge the toilet down far enough to get a clean flush. So, at 11:30pm, some two and a half hours after beginning the excremental endevour, our bathroom was again fit for flushing.

Here's a link for all you fellow pluggers out there:

The Chronicles of a Wannabe Engineer

Engineering is a very kharmatic major, meaning that if you party, you've neglected your schoolwork, and that ends up biting you in the ass. I say this of course because that happened this weekend, and the annihilation of my ass commenced shortly thereafter.

I'm behind in ECE 230 (circuit analysis), CS354, and ECE 220. I have a cs project and circuit analysis homework due wednesday, Linear Algebra homework, a Microsoft Interview, a Quantum Computing Symposium and an exam on Thursday, and electrodynamics homework + electrodynamics exam on Friday. Shoot me.

Job Update

Ok, no sense keeping the cat in the bag anymore. Mr. Friskers is getting ornery and is beginning to deposit his little cat surprises, making the damned thing smell like a garbage disposal.

So, I hit up the engineering career fair pretty hard when it came to Madison, dropping 20 or so resumes, and all that hard work is beginning to bear some serious fruit. I've already had one interview with Thomson West, and they're flying me to their headquarters in Eagan, MN, putting me up in a hotel, buying me dinner, giving me a tour of their world class datacenter, having me talk with some VP's, and I'll have to go through a battery of interviews. Should be cool.

Also, I've been invited for a round of interviews with Microsoft for a possible internship opportunity with them. I should know more about that by Thursday or Friday next week. Other than that, Electrodynamics is proving to be hell, and circuit analysis is growing slowly more complicated. It's going to be another semester of engineering, that's for sure.
